When I heard about the expected 2 hour wait to get onto the skytrain during the Olympics, my pre-emptive frustration drained me of any excitement. My Olympic spirit wasn’t as far gone as some of those protesters, but wavering around the decision to purchase Olympic clothing because it isn’t really my color
Lucky for the little girl in me, all it took were some fancy lights to change my opinion. And by fancy, I mean absolutely beautiful, sweeping across skyscrapers and into the clouds kind of lights. Vancouver definitely looks like Gotham City right now, but not under siege.
On the streets everyone is looking around with curiosity and excitement, sporting their Olympic gear. All the venues and people are so new, its fun to smile at someone on the streets and know what they’re excited about. I have to wake tomorrow and not have any Olympic gear to put on, great.
Falling asleep, the lights are still passing by my window - at least I assume they are. I am entirely blind without my glasses and these aren’t stadium lights I’m talking about.
